Nichola Bruce is known for her innovative approach to the moving image, she has continued to film Randometer a personal archive of over 25 years which informs her larger works.

Awarded a N E S T A Fellowship UK (2002-2006) she explored the Strangeness of Seeing a study of perception, a series of 26 moving image works with Rebecca E Marshall.
As Bruce + Marshall they have been collaborating since 2002 recently completing the first stages of My Mind is an Alien in my Body.

Her feature drama, the award winning I Could Read The Sky was described by Screen International as "restoring faith in the artistic possibilities of cinema".

She has made acclaimed experimental films, dramas and arts documentaries, including collaborations with artists such as Laurie Anderson (The Human Face, BBC Arena), Rachel Whiteread (The Vienna Memorial, BBC Arts) and Steven Berkoff (The Dramatic Art of Steven Berkoff, Channel 4).

She has also worked in interactive and forward looking music projects with Peter Gabriel.

Nichola is currently making Moon bug a feature documentary, and Sobras a mobile phone narrative.
